I'm having trouble sending mails from my CPANEL hosting.

I cannot send to anyone, independent of new/answer mail, attached or not files, ...

I dont know what is happening, and Go Daddy Technical support insist nothing happend.

Please, tell me wich solution can I get

Update about trouble.

I have the trouble just in this cases:

Sending mail with outlook 2.007 app both IMAP or POP3 config

Over my mobile, and with IMAP config works well.

The trouble I guess, it's in one hidden filter in CPANEL firmware, that informs about the changes in the IP associated to the user line, because in Spain is Dynamic with all IT providers.

This causes, that anyday, the IP change, and the internal filter over servers identify the number of sending mail with diferent IP data.

When you have enough mails sent with diferents IPs, the server filter notify to The Spamhaus Project that this is happening, and this The Spamhaus Project put this IP in The Spamhaus Block List SBL - IP Spam Filter - The Spamhaus Project.

This action, didn't happend if CPanel was well configured the DNS policy, MX nor TXT. But my CPANEL version DON'T ALLOW CONFIGURATION

My provider, cannot change it, and you need to remove personaly your IP for The Spamhaus Block List SBL - IP Spam Filter - The Spamhaus Project.


Now, I have found the mistake and I have no fees for my discover over your CPANEL hole.

Please, solve it over your firmware fastly, thinking that in Spain anytime you restart your router, your IP is newly asigned with new parameteres.

Can you clarify what you're talking about here?

Are you saying that your cPanel account does not allow you to configure MX or TXT records?

Intentare explicarlo de manera sencilla en español.

Mi proveedor internet es Movistar, que provee IP Dinamicas (En España es asi ) y se cambian las IPs cada vez que se reinicia el router o cada vez que quieren ellos.

Mi proveedor de Hosting, GoDaddy, ha modificado el archivo MX para que los correos que envio no sea tomado por Spamhaus como Spam (me añadieron a una lista SBL Spam SBL - IP Spam Filter - The Spamhaus Project)
Pero mi proveedor, no puede desactivar un filtro interno que CPANEL tiene sobre sus Aplicaciones de Gestion del Servidor.

Parece ser, que desde la ultima actualiacion de Firmware de CPANEL a version 78.0.49, hay algun tipo de filtro dentro de esa version que reconoce los correos enviados desde Outlook 2007 y sobre POP3 como Spam.

Por ello mi IP, dominio y hosting han acabado identificados como Spam en la lista SBL de SBL - IP Spam Filter - The Spamhaus Project

Ello hace que no pueda enviar correos ni siquiera a cuentas de gmail.

Tras varias investigaciones y cambios, mi proveedor no es capaz de localizar que provoca es identificacion, lo que nos deja la unica opcion, que debe ser algun filtro interno del firmware de CPANEL que al identificar las siguientes opciones juntas, genera esa etiqueta para que identifique como spam la IP, Dominio:

Correo Outlook 2007 bajo configuracion POP3 + SSL (Esto solo pasa con la configuracion POP3, en IMAP funciona bien)
IP dinamica

Y resulta que solo me ha bloqueado el envio de mensajes (por ahora) a cuentas de @Bancos y @Gmail.


Como este bloqueo, le va a ocurrir a casi todos los usuarios cuando lleguen a la cuota de envío que yo he alcanzado ( yo recibo 100 emails diarios y contesto 50), les recomiendo que vean que puede causar ese conflicto.

Es evidente que de un dia para otro, no puede haberse producido solo. Y coincide con el cambio de version de CPANEL.

Si ustedes, pueden localizar el fallo y arreglarlo, perfecto para mi y para mucha gente mas.

Si no es asunto suyo, pues mala suerte.
Todos los usuarios que tenemos Hosting con CPANEL, cambiaremos de sistema en un mes o dos a otro que no de conflicto.

Godaddy y el resto de proveedores, buscaran otra solucion y asunto arreglado.

De ustedes depende, es su empresa y su negocio.

Thank you for responding in Spanish that was far more clear. I understand that you have some frustration as a result of this issue but first, let me be clear here about two things:
  1. you're using an End of Life version of cPanel which is not supported. Any potential issues with this version of the software would not be resolved as it's not a supported version. Currently, cPanel & WHM v86 is the LTS version with v88 being the RELEASE version. If you do not have root access this is on your provider to maintain.
  2. Thus far based on what you've shown me this appears to be an issue with GoDaddy's mail relay, not cPanel.

Now, with that being said, let me explain why:
  • This is the first time I've ever heard of an issue like yours. We've never to my knowledge implemented any filter "that recognizes emails sent from Outlook 2007 and over POP3 as Spam".
  • Furthermore, there is nothing that cPanel does that would add your IP to an RBL for spam when sending an outbound email, the ONLY thing it would do is not allow your to send mail in the event that your provider had enabled outbound mail scanning for SpamAssassin and your specific mail was flagged as spam, but again and I stress this: it would NOT lead to your IP being added to a blacklist. An IP being added to a blacklist is most commonly a result of reports from numerous remote mailserver recipients.
  • The two notices you include are GoDaddy specific filters from their mail servers which have absolutely nothing to do with cPanel itself, regardless of the "CPANEL" in the filter name. It's a customization they've created for mail originating from cPanel servers. I can't begin to understand how or why they would not be able to troubleshoot their own configuration. This is evidenced by a quick google search of the error in which ONLY GoDaddy related issues are found. Please see the following:
  • A 3rd party article on the issue as further evidence:
  • A site GoDaddy provides for you to check whether or not your mail will be flagged as spam:

I can tell you with almost 100% confidence what is occurring here is as follows:
  • You have hosting through a 3rd party
  • The 3rd party rents its servers through GoDaddy
  • GoDaddy forces mail to use a mail relay - in this case, you're using THEIR mail relay
  • GoDaddy uses their own and sometimes inhibiting rules on these servers to flag mail as spam
  • You send an email and as soon as it hits the GoDaddy mail relay it's being rejected due to some content associated with your local IP
As far as I know, GoDaddy does not use cPanel for its mail servers, and troubleshooting this would undoubtedly be up to them.


That being said I'd love to help you with your issue if it is something specific to cPanel and should this actually be as you say a "bug" I'd be happy to report it, I will note again that right now based on what you've noted it does not appear to be anything related to cPanel. But this leads me to some further questions:

  • Has your provider given you any technical details about the issue? It's a pretty quick lookup in the exim maillogs at /var/log/exim_mainlog on the local server to determine if outbound mail was flagged as spam. /var/log/maillog will even detail the specific rules that your mail matched if by chance the mail was indeed flagged by cPanel's outbound spam scanning. But this would just result in your mail being rejected before it is sent to the relay server - which again would not result in your IP being added to a blacklist.
  • Has your provider given you any technical details of this "internal filter" they are blaming for this occurring? The diagnostic details provided are not something cPanel provides nor is it a standard exim error. The exim logs detail if a system, central or user-level filter is matched on a cPanel server when mail is sent but again this would not lead to your email being added to an RBL.
  • Are there any further technical details provided by the relay server or Gmail/A bank you're unable to send mail to?
  • You noted that the provider you use modified the MX record so that the emails you send are not "taken by Spamhaus as Spam" what exactly did they change?
  • Please detail for me specifically what occurs when you send an email to Gmail or a bank
  • If you have bouncebacks which relate to this issue please provide them here (first remove any identifying information)
  • Do you have a valid SPF, DKIM, and PTR Record (the last item would be something that your provider would have had to add).
    • You can verify all of these at cPanel>>Email>>Email Deliverability pending your provider allows this feature in your account

Finalmente se localizo el problema. Dentro del codigo del firmware del servidor de Godaddy, habian insertado un pequeño trikbot, que añadia a los correos emitidos un enlace a la pagina web de una petrolera rusa.

Aqui tienes el detalle de todo lo que abuseat.org identifica como problema: https://www.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=160.153.128.32

Los antivirus que aplican sobre el firmware y software del servidor, no localizaban el trikbot, porque no era dañino mas alla de agregar una linea a los correos emitidos por el servidor.

Y al tener una IP Shared para todos los dominios alojados en el servidor, todos los dominios son agregados directamente a una lista spam.

Acabo de comprobar que han vuelto a incluir nuestra IP como spam.

Por lo menos esta vez sabemos cual es el origen, el problema es que no lo han solucionado.

Gracias a CPANEL por el interes y sus consejos.

El problema no es de CPANEL.

El problema es de GODADDY y su soporte tecnico de servidores.

Hello People, Past month I subscribed GoDaddy shared hosting. I am using Outlook 2007 in computer and able to send and receive emails. On mobile device I am only able to receive email. While sending email getting error "server rejected". Please help.
