    Hello all.

I have a single website installed on one VPS (2Bg, 2 Vcores) for testing purposes.

    I've made this single test:

    - VPS with cPanel installed (DNS, Email and FTP are disabled for this test) : TTFB = 1.648sec
    - VPS without cPanel : same Apache, PHP (and mods) and MySQL version & configuration : TTFB = 0.394sec

Tested with Byte Check - Check Your Time To First Byte

Can't understand why cPanel adds 1.2sec to load first byte....

I'm using suPHP with suEXEC on both configurations.
The script used is Joomla 2.5 with cache and gzip OFF.

did you test after mysql restart when cache is clear ?

you need to run TTFB tests at least few times, to compare results

and check mods enabled in cpanel apache install, and non cpanel
