strict_trans_tables is a mode which is set on connection/globally and not really able to be disabled per account the documentation on modes may be useful MySQL :: MySQL 5.7 Reference Manual :: A.3 MySQL 5.7 FAQ: Server SQL Mode

the method is very custom and could cause unknown issues.
