My server was timing out today.

They guys at the data center told me the computer was off.

It had power, but it was turned off.

They rebooted it and it didn't give any errors.

? How can a server be turned off ?

    God Bless,
    Oscar

A server is no different to your computer you probably posted that message from.

And the computer you posted from can be shutdown, correct? ;)

Run thought some of the log files to find out what went wrong. It may be possible that your server had automatically rebooted it self and the motherboard’s bios is not set to automatically reboot after power loss. (The dreaded problem with AcmeMicro barebones).
