I've got a problem with my site, a few of the links now have two extensions. For example the link to the main forum is now showingup as index.php.php when it should be just index.php.

    I have apache 1.3.37 (Unix).

I tried to install apache 2 yesterday, i done everything except start it, it would not start. All apahce 2 files are still on the server. I think this is the problem

How can I uninstall apache 2 from the server.

    Thanks in advance,

The one thing I can tell you for certain is that your problem is NOT apache 2 and
uninstalling Apache 2 would not really do anything to help other than indirectly
    by restoring an old configuration.

I would say you either mis-named the files before uploading them ...
(easy to do at home since windows hides extensions by default)

    (OR)

You may have a mod_rewrite directive in place somewhere that is
mismapping the target to ".php.php" instead of ".php" ...
(check your httpd.conf file and any .htaccess files for this)
