Two Queries regarding /var/cpanel/users files

I have recently moved to a new dedicated server (about a month ago now), and I have just been having a look at the files in the '/var/cpanel/users' directory.

I notice that these have a line that starts IP= - but it is showing the old servers IP address. The sites have been working OK since the swapover, but this doesn't seem right to me....

Also, some of these files have multiple domain names (and subdomains) - which is OK in itself, but some have multiple lines that start with the same DNS number, eg
DNS2=mydomain.com
DNS2=mail.mydomain.com

Any ideas appreciated,

Thanks
Daniel

Hello.

I think cPanel gets IPs from:
/var/cpanel/users/

when you check "account list" via WHM. Just make sure WHM shows the correct IPs and probably you need to make all DNS numbers different. I think your addon/parked/subdomains are messed in cPanel and you won't be able to remove them properly while the DNS numbers are identical. However it is a guess only.

When I look at the 'account list' in WHM, it does show the correct new server IP addresses...

Thanks

Go on, have a guess
It doesn't get the IP from the cpanel users file, it gets it from httpd.conf, I believe the one in the users file is a legacy item. The DNS= lines should really be ought to be in contiguous increments from DNS to DNS1, DNS2, etc - I don't know if it would cause a problem to have skips and duplicates - it might so would be best to fix them, especially if you're having problems.
