I have a new dedicated server and have run thru the setup of WHM and created a user account for a domain.

I setup the account to have unlimited setup for all the options including addon domains.

When I access cPanel and try to add a domain I get this error:

    Addon Domain Additions

There was a problem creating the addondomain. Show Details
Error from park wrapper: Sorry, subdomains of the hostname cannot be parked.

I'm not sure why it's failing. anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks
    Todd

Ok I figured out that you can't add a domain as an "addon" if it's the name of the server...but I was able to add it as a new account.

So now when I try to add an addon domain I get this message:

Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 209.126.137.108,216.122.7.155 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver.

I don't plan on using the DNS server as part of cpanel, how do I remove this requirement so that I can add my domains?

    Thanks
    Todd

Both the problem you encountered in your first post, and the problem in your second post, can be resolved by changing an option in Tweak Settings.

The addon problem can be resolved by changing the Tweak Setting named:

Allow users to park subdomains of the server's hostname main domain.

As for the second problem, look for a Tweak Setting named:

Allow Creation of Parked/Addon Domains that resolve to other servers (i.e. domain transfers) [This can be a major security problem. If you must have it enabled, be sure to not allow users to park common internet domains.]
