Hello,

We are unable to delete archive mail folders using any webmail, Squirrelmail, Roundecube OR horde.

is it cpanel archive bug or what ?? why archive emails are not getting deleted, as simple as normail mail ?

Hello :)

Could you elaborate on which specific emails are not removed? What method are you using to remove them?

Thank you.

Dear Michael,

Sorry for replying very old post but I have one small issue and like some clarification from cPanel engineers, please confirm that we can delete the E-mails which is browsable from cPanel >> Email Archiving ( logged in by using cPanel login details in roundcube) or not, because I am receiving the error message "Server Error: Mailbox is read-only cpanel"

Awaiting your reply.

It's by design that email archives are not removable through webmail applications. You can browse to "Email Archiving" in cPanel to reduce the retention time, and then run the following command to ensure emails outside of that retention period are removed:

Code:
/scripts/email_archive_maintenance
Or, you can disable archiving and remove the old directories through FTP or File Manager.

Thank you.

Didn't find any feature request for this thread?
Are cPanel planning to keep archive feature in the future?

It's quite unusable and there should be alot more features and easier for customers to browse these emails and delete things if they want.
Hate talking to customers and telling them that this is a solution provided in a "hurry" by cPanel each time.

There are no plans to remove the archiving feature from cPanel. You can open new feature requests that you don't see when searching "archiving" on the feature request website. Or, you can disable support for "Email Archiving" via "WHM >> Tweak Settings".

Thank you.
