Try compiling the source from scratch if all else fails..... as root you can ignore various broken paths / missing libraries and have a better shot at a successful install.

www.freshmeat.net , will definitely have the source for this.

(untar/gunzip README should have specific install info)

if you get the 'magick/api.h' not found error, this is what worked for us from root ssh session:

    mkdir /tmp/imagick
    cd /tmp/imagick
    wget ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.2/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/ImageMagick-5.3.8-3.i386.rpm
    wget ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.2/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/ImageMagick-devel-5.3.8-3.i386.rpm
    rpm -Uvh *rpm

Working on PerlMagick (Image::Magick Perl module) as it gives errors via WHM install... Tips ?

    Do it this way:

    SSH to box and:

    1. mkdir /home/src
    2. cd /home/src
    3. wget http://imagemagick.sourceforge.net/http/ImageMagick-5.4.9.tar.gz
    4. tar xvzf ImageMagick-5.4.9.tar.gz
    5. cd ImageMagick-5.4.9
    6. ./configure
    7. make
    8. make install
    9. cd PerlMagick
    10. perl Makefile.PL
    11. make
    12. make install

I have done this several times and it works everytime that I have attempted it.

You can't use the ImageMagick Rpms that come with redhat since they are too out of date.

Using Marty's suggestions (which failed while 'make install' on ImageMagick for me by the way) , I got this working.

Just copy it all, then cut and paste into an SSH window when you are logged in as root (paste in Putty.exe is just a right-click)

    Good luck!

Your instructions worked like a charm! Thanks so much for such an easy install. I just got a server with cpanel and have another with Plesk. Can't even get DBD:MySQL working on Plesk so I'm thrilled with this! :)
