    Good day!

I cannot receive any e-mails. when I tried to send a message to my address from another domain I have received on the other e-mail the following message.

    -----------------------------
    72.xx.xxx.xx does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550-Verification failed for <xxxxxx@zzz.xxx>
    550-unrouteable mail domain "zzz.xxx"
    550 Sender verify failed
    Giving up on 72.xx.xxx.xx.
    ---------------------------

I can only receive e-mails from my collewagues who have same company domain.

    Example:

I can receive and message from john@mydomain.com sent to me@mydomain.com

BUT cannot receive email sent from othercompany@theirdomain.com to me@mydomain.com

Please help as our work stopped.

    Regards

can you ping zzz.xxx from the shell? perhaps your machine is not resolving. check resolv.conf and restart named/bind

bud the error say what problem you have.

    550-unrouteable mail domain "zzz.xxx"
    550 Sender verify failed

    the problem is your resolv.conf
please check if you have the correct configuration.

So what has a resolv.conf needed??
only the domeinname or the whole servername??

    like::
    server1.myservername.com
    nameserver 4.2.2.2
    nameserver IP dns server 1
    nameserver IP dns server 2
    nameserver IP dns server 3

    or:
    myservername.com
    nameserver 4.2.2.2
    nameserver IP dns server 1
    nameserver IP dns server 2
    nameserver IP dns server 3

    or else?
