Unable to remove email Auto Responder

I set up an auto responder. Came back from vacation and followed the instructions to delete the auto responder from C Panel. But my email is still sending out the out of office messages.

Does the autoresponder still appear in cPanel after attempting to delete it? If so, please report this issue to your web hosting provider so they can take a closer look.

Is it enough deleting /home/[user]/.autorespond/[email protected] and /home/[user]/.autorespond/[email protected] files for removing an autoresponder?
Or is there any other file or database entry to remove, also?

When possible, I always recommend using an API call to make sure cPanel catches all the necessary configuration files:

This function deletes an autoresponder. **Important:** When you disable the [*Receive Mail* role](https://go.cpanel.net/serverroles#roles), the system **disables** this function.
