Today I updated cPanel to the latest edge (was on 10.2 release) and am now unable to send emails via any account. It continually asks for user authentication. I can receive emails but not send. I currently have outlook set to send on port 26. I have always required users to use authentication, so everyone has been set up for it.

Below is the error I receive in exim:

    2005-07-02 18:25:44 fixed_login authenticator failed for (nonejxjfdp6r16) [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: 535 Incorrect authentication data (set_id=email@here.net)

*Note: I've changed the line to remove IP and email address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

This specific error message is a little difficult to diagnoe. In any case, run these commands and see if you can send out mail:

    /scripts/updatenow
    /scripts/eximup --latest
    /scripts/mailperm

    /etc/init.d/cpanel restart

If that doesn't work, make sure that exim.pl is not deleted. Still doesn't work, make sure port 110 is not deleted.

Hope this helps! PM me, if you need more help!

    Worked Great

Worked great for me, I could send & receive without some inconsistent problems, but when I tried to check in outlook's diagnosing to send test messages, I received errors. Thanks for the fix!
