Hi everyone,

I have had quite a few support phone calls from angry and upset customers since we updated cPanel to the latest version. Customers are informing us that they are unable to send email from Windows XP machines using email clients including Windows Live Mail, Microsoft Outlook and other third party applications.

However, when we ask them to install and use Mozilla Thunderbird their secure mail server settings are accepted and able the user is able to send email using SSL/TLS method.

Has anyone heard of this issue, got any resolutions or knows of any patches or fixes?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Nicholas Sansom

They need to move away from XP. Support for it ended years ago:
Windows XP end of support - Microsoft Windows
I am aware Microsoft stopped supporting it. But customers and none the less, they still choose to use Windows XP as their preferred operating system. I have explained this to them, that they need to upgrade to a minimum Windows 7 OS. However, getting them to upgrade is a whole new can of worms.

I was just hoping; there might be something for those using Windows XP machines and mail clients.
