We have a client who cannot recieve his email. It appears that the email cannot find the local part. The email gets bounced back with:

[email protected]
unknown local-part &test& in domain &domain.com&

the domain.com is pointing to the correct MX records. Everything seems to be correct. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to hear them

Thanks

I now have a client that is having the same problem. So far, she is the only one reporting it....

I have noticed this too. Strange..but it happens from time to times...not regularly. This has happened for 2 domains on my server till now.

I have the same problem here with several clients.

Someone told me that this is cpanel related and I think I remember posting a question about it in another forum. Will need to check back.

Follow up...our client that had this problem had used some UpperCase characters in the add-on...She deleted her add-on, recreated it with all lowercase and the mail started going through...I'm curious if this is the same for everyone elses clients who are having this issue...

;) check if /home/username/etc/passwd and /home/username/etc/domain.com/passwd has the mail account entry.

Most probably the /home/username/etc/domain.com/passwd would not have the entry for the mail account. do

rm -rf /home/username/etc/domain.com/passwd

ln /home/username/etc/passwd /home/username/etc/domain.com/

This should work. We are playing with the mail password file it would be always better to take a backup

Regards.
