    Code:
2007-06-19 17:53:24 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (connie) [60.52.95.109] (error: Connection reset by peer)

Anyone know what is the reason to getting these error in exim_mainlog?

I just clicked on update software and WHM updated all my software. I was expecting some confirmation yes/no thingie but apparently WHM thinks all admin are sure of what they click.

Anyway, after than my apache went dead and I had to restart httpd to fix the problem. I also restarted exim and mysql.

Everything seems to be working fine now but I keep getting this unexpected disconnection error in exim_mainlog.

Anyone know what is the reason for this problem?

The IP address itself does not belongs to me. Can I assume that it's someone trying to hack my email service? But the username does exist. This is not the only error. This unexpected disconnection does comes quite frequently with other users and ip address.

    More examples :

    Code:
2007-06-19 17:58:39 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (user106-175.enet.vn) [203.190.175.106]
2007-06-19 17:58:45 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (211-72-195-63.HINET-IP.hinet.net) [211.72.195.63]
2007-06-19 17:58:55 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (enet.com.cn) [219.134.33.157]
2007-06-19 17:59:04 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (lifecash3000.com) [83.31.121.216]
2007-06-19 17:59:05 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (la-mark.com.pl) [91.140.145.251]
2007-06-19 17:59:07 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (dorazio.us) [217.64.29.68]

Take note, the hinet.net is well known to be a spammer. Does that means spammers are using my email server as relay for spams? How can I check to confirm?

    Go on, have a guess
The error means exactly what it says, that the SMTP connection was disconnected during the normal SMTP handshakes. It's usually broken spam scripts trying to send to your server, since they're distributed (different IP's) there's nothing much you can do about it.
