I moved a bunch of FrontPage sites for a client from one server to another and now the FrontPage extensions are broken on all the sites that I migrated. If I go into each cPanel and remove, cleanup, then reinstall the extensions they work just fine for that site. Trouble is is that I have about 500 more to deal with...
Does anyone have a small shell script that would step through and do this from root for all the sites?
My client is determined to use FrontPage so making him use something else just isn't an option.
Thanks for any input.

That wouldn't be hard to write although I don't personally have the time at the moment or a big demand for that one.

I am pretty busy this week but if you are still needing this in a few days, I might be able to write something up for you for that. In the meantime, most of what you need is in the /scripts folder although you may need to make a few API calls to find out which sites specifically will need updating.

Your client is already in very deep trouble!

Frontpage was discontinued in June 2006 and is no longer produced, sold, or supported.

In December 2006, all Frontpage extensions were officially discontinued mainly due to ongoing security problems and the technology was replaced with WebDAV. What few 3rd party extensions remained, those were gradually phased out over the next year and what few copies survived are not updated or supported and evolution of server software and standards has rendered them totally non-functional in most server environments.

No server systems are supposed to be supporting Frontpage anymore in any form and your client is lucky that Cpanel keeps hanging on while it can even though officially it is supposed to have long since dropped all Frontpage support entirely.

Microsoft's current development products only have support for WebDav standard and do not employ old FP extension technologies.

Your client better get used to the idea of changing because VERY, VERY SOON all remnants of Frontpage will be completely gone and there won't be any functioning Frontpage extensions left anywhere.
