Sometimes when load spikes on my server InnoDB will stop working and I get messages like this in my log files.
WordPress database error Unknown storage engine 'InnoDB' for query SELECT

Manually restarting MySQL corrects the problem, but it can be quite some time before I notice it.

Anyone have any idea why InnoDB stops working? Suggestions for either fixing the problem or setting up a monitor to restart MySQL when it happens?

    Hello :)

Do you notice any error messages in /var/lib/mysql/$hostname.err when this occurs?

    Thank you.
