    Hi guys,

I'm having some trouble sending e-mail on my server at the moment. E-mails to a number of domains are bouncing, saving " unrouteable mail domain "xxx.xxx"". The e-mails are being sent from an e-mail client (ie Outlook, Thunderbird), not from a PHP script. I have searched the internet and these forums and tried everything that has been posted, but nothing has fixed it.

    I have tried:

    a) Unchecking "Track the origin of messages sent though the mail server by adding the X-Source headers (exim 4.34+ required)" in WHM
    b) Made sure that "Prevent the user 'nobody' from sending out mail to remote addresses (php and cgi scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using phpsuexec and suexec respectively.)" is unchecked (although I run phpsuexec so it shouldn't matter)
    c) Run /scripts/mailup --force
    d) Checked /etc/localdomains to make sure the domains the e-mails are being sent from are in there
    e) done MX lookups on the domains that are failling

Two of the domains are that are failing are vodaphone.com and idl.net.au.

Anyone got any ideas? I really need to get this fixed ASAP.

Nevermind, we fixed the problem. It was trying to verify addresses when sending mail.

    fix unroutable domain errors:

    1) Make sure the domain is resolving from your server and can see other domains.
    If not check your resolv.conf

    2) This is often caused by WHM, Tweak Settings, The maximum each domain can send out per hour (0 is unlimited): EG 300

Once this limit is reached all other messages will be seen as unroutable. Try increasing the limit or throttling mail out

    Ramprage,

How do you throttle mail out per domain or per user? The limit per hour in WHM Tweaks seem to be a server-wide setting. I searched your articles at webhostgear and could not find anything related to it.

    Thanks.

Try the five things I listed in my first post. Also, go in to WHM, go to "Exim Configuration Editor" under "Service Configuration" and uncheck the box that says "Verify the existance of email senders.".
