G'day All,

We run cPanel, CloudLinux and KernelCare, and after yum updates which raise a needs-restarting state such as...

1 : /usr/lib/systemd/systemd --system --deserialize 20
---
data:
details:
updates:
systemd: 1:219-57.el7.cloudlinux
needs_reboot: 1
metadata:
command: system_needs_reboot
reason: OK
result: 1
version: 1

...our servers will simply reboot within the next day or two unless we manually perform a reboot to allow updates to apply and clear the needs-restarting state.

The reboots write appropriate entries to the logs, so these are definitely controlled restarts.

This has now happened multiple times on multiple servers.

Is there a configuration we're missing?

We want to control reboots ourselves and not have automated restarts.

Regards,

LBJ

Hello @LBJ,

No feature of cPanel & WHM should automatically reboot the server. Can you open a support ticket so we can take a closer look at an affected system to see why it was rebooted? You can post the ticket number here and we will link this forums thread to the ticket.

Thank you.

I've experienced similar issue on multiple servers since Last Friday, also run cPanel, CloudLinux and KernelCare
