    When I run up2date I am receiving the following error.

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 9, in ?
    import rpm
    ImportError: No module named rpm

    Can anyone tell me why I am seeing this and how to fix it, I am totally lost.

    solved

    1) pico /usr/sbin/up2date
    2) change

    #!/usr/bin/python -u

    with

    #!/usr/bin/python1.5 -u

    3) Save

    now try

    up2date -l , it should work(for me works)

    Radio_Head,

    You are a Genius. How did you figure this out. I had to also do the same thing to the rhn_register but after all went went and RHN now sees the server again. I guess I pay better attention to the warning emails it sends me about Aug. 28. I guess that is when it happened. Thanks again.

    I am not a genius :p . I read somewhere in this forum that the problem could be python . Instead to reinstall pyhton
    I executed a "#whereis python" and then I changed the python path on /usr/sbin/up2date ; it fixed the problem.

    Someone could answer us why
    #!/usr/bin/python -u
    stopped to work on our box , however.

    Bye
