Check the email account that you registered with rhn.
    You'll see this:

The certificate used by up2date and rhn_register to communicate with the
Red Hat Network reached its end of life on August 28th 2003. Users
attempting to connect to Red Hat Network will see SSL connection or
    certificate verification failures.

New versions of the up2date and rhn_register clients are now available
which are required for continued access to Red Hat Network.

It would be nice if cpanel could include the updates for up2date in the next stable version. If you run an upgrade right now cpanel says the up2date module is still ok which it is not.

rpmup takes care of updates, you dont need to use up2date.

    Shaun,
The problem though is that rpmup does only update certain things but does not allow control over for example kernel updates. On top if you run rpmup it reports that up2date is current which it is not.
