My attempt to run up2date on RH7.3 to get the kernel update automatically has failed miserably.
I get a message that says: no interactive mode available.
So I use --configure and get rid of the 'kernel' in the skip list. But it still has not updated the kernel.

What am I doing wrong (other than breathing).

Try doing a:

up2date -p

That'll update the packages.

And then
up2date -u
That should install it

I ended up deciding to use up2date to update my kernel (heck of a lot easier than doing it by hand - and faster), and I haven't had any problems with it.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.
And WOW! It worked smoothly. No problems at all!
