    Hi,

starting 06/09, upcp download for SpamAssassin fails.
What can I do to resolve this?

Edit /home/.cpcpan/modules.versions and remove the line for Mail::SpamAssassin

It will eventually fallback and download it from one of our servers. It just takes a while.

I just edited it to read # Mail::SpamAssassin=3.2.1
Then ran #/scripts/upcp and it worked.

Note 3.2.1 has not be tested to work with cPanel.

3.1.8 is the latest approved version
    3.2.0 has known problems.

I haven't found any problems with 3.2.1 so far......... , but the only reason we installed it was because 3.1.8 refused to install during the nightly /scripts/upcp run , so after a few days we got fed up and installed 3.2.1.

Does this mean it should eventually download 3.1.8? My servers have been trying for more than a week now to 'fallback'.

What does this do? Just skip the installation of this version?

Same for me, I doubt it will fallback.

(BTW, you don't happen to be krisdv from Gil.?)

By 'eventually' do you mean within hours, days, or weeks?

More like minutes. It will try through all the Perl mirrors until it gets to cPanel's ones.

I can see all of the tries and retries and fallthroughs in the output of upcp. However, it gets to the end and fails completely (it says the attempted ftp is a last-ditch effort). AND ...

The folks in this thread are saying it fails every night. So what gives?

I wish there was some sort of "central repository" of this kind of information (rather than combing through the forums for a related problem, then stumbling upon information that should be known).

I've started keeping my own list, but it would be nice if there could be one central place of a list of this kind of information, including what software needs to be upgraded *only* through cPanel (such as Perl), and what commonly installed software that doesn't interact with cPanel in any way.
    </dream mode off>

I had 3.20 installed with RELEASE (if there were problems, I never noticed them). upcp only started trying to downgrade SA to 3.18 when I backed down to STABLE.

    Hi Tim....

I did this, and I ended up with SA 3.2.1.
