upcp -- ioprio_set: Operation not permitted

    Is it normal to see errors like the one below in upcp?

    The short answer is yes.

    The longer answer is the detect_env_capabilities checks whether your system supports IONice. If it cannot, the proper configuration is updated and utilities such as pkgacct won't attempt to use IONice. When detecting the system capabilities it is possible for an error to be reported by the operating system as the only way to know if something is supported, in some cases, is to attempt to use the capability. By having a single script probe the capability, you should only see the errors during update, rather than every time something wants to use the capability.
