Hello,

I seem to have installed java a while ago on this guy and tomcat, and clearly selected not to update these. Every once the freaking system decides to update it anyhow. Cpanel then backs out and says we do not support it.

Check this out, this server was having issues, and I ran upcp since it seemed to hang on perl and I get this:

Ok, I will describe how I feel this occured to spare any others the major pain in the rear this has become for me. The new version of tomcat is not working well with my jdk4 :(

First of all, I noticed that the UPCP process was haning on this server. It was stuck for the last five days. I decided to kill all of them and run it manually. As I ran it manually it prompted me to reinstall perl manually. Very strange, never had that happen with a cpanel server, but I was able to do it anyhow. Suddenly, it started updating everything. As I pointed out here, it decided to somehow override all my settings and wipe out my customized version of Tomcat with old JDK.

So basically CPanel updater broke my customized install. I submitted a ticket to them, but I bet they will tell me it is out of their scope of support.

Let this be a warinng to all who have custom Tomcat installs...
