ive got a bit of a problem updating a couple of servers from WHM 9.1.0 cPanel 9.1.0-R85 to the new 9.2 R20 release.

ive run /upcp and it goes thru the motions but WHM doesnt seem to be reflecting the new settings after its finished.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Go on, have a guess
Try the following:

/etc/init.d/cpanel stop

ps axf

and look to see if cpsrvd is still running, if it is, kill it. Then restart cpanel:

/etc/init.d/cpanel start

Login and see if it reflects the update. I presume it is saying that it is upgrading you when you run upcp.

tried what you suggested but its made no difference.

And yes it said it had upgraded to R20 when i ran upcp

ive also noticed that when i log into shell i get the following:

mkdir: cannot create directory `/root/public_html/cgi-bin': File exists

and if i try and run top i get:

top: Unknown terminal "xterm" in $TERM

so something is very amiss somewhere....
