I have a question about cPanel/WHM updates. I recently installed PostgreSQL and Ruby via the installers in /scripts/. I was wondering if these automatically get updated by cPanel with upcp, or any other automatic updates. I believe PostgreSQL does because it was installed via yum and should update via a "yum update" command.

    Insight? Thanks.

    Hello,

Once you perform a upcp --force command, cPanel will automatically update any script file on /scripts folder if its required.

cPanel Update (upcp) will not keep your Ruby install up-to-date at this time. It requires manual intervention using the installruby script. There will eventually be a mechanism in place to ensure Ruby and Gems are updated. Since PostregreSQL is installed via the OS Vendor RPMs, this is updated when yum update is executed during upcp.
