2.4.32-ow1-acl

updated kernel yesterday along with going to the latest current WHM/cpanel build.
Noticed today that the memory usage is much higher, and there is no swap being used what so ever.

Memory usage increasing slowly. Swap file un touched.

is this cause for alarm? anything i should check to ensure optimized system?

anyone having this problem or experienced it

if anyone in the community has experienced this, and has some insight it would be wonderful.

My memory is slowly increasing and on the rise, however the swap file is still un touched.

I'm a little scared to see what happens 12 hours from now.

my memory usage (1GIG) has increased from an average 4-45% to almost 60+.

Something is not right.

It sounds that you installed Openwall Linux kernel patch 2.4.32-ow1. Did you use the *.tar.gz, or the rpm type? Did you reboot the system after installing that patch? Did you see any errors?

i asked my data center to perform the update

after that, i had a few cpop issues. i upgrade cpanel and that fixed that. However, no errors were reported to me (not that they would).

All services seem to be working however.

memory leveled off....phew..

ok my memory load has leveled off at about 20+% more then the average 40%.

My swap is still not touched. Memory slides from 55-65% now on a GIG. At this point, i'm gonna go ahead and up it to 2 GIG.

I'm still a little concerned, however not sure what more information i can provide. Anything specific you might need to look at andy to determine if this is a problem or not?

If the kernel patch 2.4.32-ow1 causes all these troubles to your server, you should remove it.
