    Yesterday my system was upgraded to WHM 9.3.0 R5. After this update on RHEL, up2date -l shows a whol heap of updates. Obviously there are some that are marked to be skipped like php and so forth, I believe if you use the redhat version of php it may break cpanel/WHM?
    Anyway, what I am asking is, are these other updates safe to go ahead with? I am thinking they are only showing now because the new cpanel upgrade installed alot of other files that now need updating.. Just dont want to break anything.
    Anyone else notice alot of other updates after the new cpanel version?

    Go on, have a guess
    It's pure coincidence :) RedHat just happened to release RHE3 update 2 on the same day.

    Whether you upgrade RHE3 or not is of course your choice. Be aware that there is a new kernel amongst all those updates. I've upgraded 3 servers to have all the latest packages except for:

    kernel*;php*;httpd*;perl*;mysql*;mod_ssl*;

    I like to upgrade ther kernel manually. cPanel comes with its own PHP installation.
