You might want to go over all of your settings via WHM to make sure things are as you wish them to be, including updates. 7th item down from the top, left menu.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Ive had cpanel / whm installed for a few days now and ive noticed it runs a update which is a kewl thing how ever...
I am really concerned that these updates are gonna kill sites i have already running on the server is there a way to stop it from running just in case.

What makes you worry about cPanel/WHM breaking websites? cPanel/WHM updates should not do that unless you have performed some custom configuration cPanel/WHM does not natively support.
