Updating FFMPEG to 6

I've been lazy and never updated ffmpeg because none of my cpanel users were using it. Now, I find it's version 2.8.15 and it should be version 6. Does anyone know how to update it to version 6

• On Cloudlinux
• On Ubuntu

Any advice would be great. I can't find any how-to upgrade information on the internet. I'd rather not uninstall and reinstall it. But, if I must, I must.
