    Hello,

I just tried to update from cPanel 11.24.4-S35075 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 to 11.25 using "Upgrade to Latest Version" page in WHM but in the last 30 minutes I didn't see any progress, the animated images on the progress bars are rolling but the number is still 20% and the last lines sent to my browser was :

    Code:

and after 10 minutes I got this email:

I recommend letting our technical analysts take a look at your server to determine if something is wrong.

Keep in mind that 11.25 is only in EDGE at the moment. You can verify this at: Downloads - cPanel Inc.

EDGE is largely intended for developer use and deployment testing. It is not intended for production use.

I have no ETA on when 11.25 will propagate to STABLE other than that it will happen after 11.25 propagates to CURRENT and RELEASE.

    11.24 - 11.25 CURRENT same 20% update hang

One of our servers is set to update for CURRENT release. This server was running cPanel 11.24.5-C39633 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 on CentOS 5.2 x/86/64

We too are "stuck" at 20% and no further progress.

I know that the installation process can seem to hang at 20% for several minutes on some servers. However, if you could provide the output of the following command, that would be helpful in diagnosing this issue:

    Code:
    ps -afuxww
Of course, always feel welcome to let our technical analysts login to your server to assist with this issue.

    Thank you for your help.

Whm´s "Upgrade to Latest Version" (11.24 I am not upgrading to 11.25 since I use the Stable)

This appears to stem from third-party customizations applied to the following file that is executed at the end of a cPanel update:
    Code:
    /scripts/postupcp
Please escalate the issue to the third-party vendor that supplied the customizations.

Depending on the full process list output it may be necessary to kill and restart the process as a precautionary measure; however, the third-party modification to the "postupcp" script should be temporarily removed or disabled to help ensure success.

If you would like assistance with ensuring a successful update you are welcome to submit a support request so we may investigate directly.

Hi there, and hello cPanel Don,

    Code:
    /scripts/postupcp
    is
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    perl /usr/mscpanel/mscheck.pl
    /scripts/compilers off

    Is it configserver 3rd party?

    Thanks

Please comment (disable) the "mscheck" script entry as this is third-party and not standard in cPanel/WHM. Another option is to rename postupcp to postupcp.disabled so that it will not be used.

Solving this issue - Configserver Mailscanner

    Hi there,

As xpected, the removal of the line made the cpanels upgrade ok.
For anybody with this kind of problem, and may be concernd with the malfuncioning of somethiung due to the removal of the file, - here´s the answer of the Configservers (3rd party) response on that.

(...) However, in this case I would recommend that you temporarily remove or comment out the contents of the /scripts/postupcp file while you upgrade cpanel. We have seen occasional problems with cpanel upgrades with the mscheck.pl line in postpupcp but have not been able to recreate it on our servers so have not been able to discover the cause.

You should check the syntax error you are getting and edit the /usr/mailscanner/etc/filename.rules.conf file to fix that, as it could be causing other problems with MailScanner.

    Regards,
    Sarah

I have spoken with Jonathan and he says that the mscheck.pl is no longer required in postupcp, so you can simply remove that line from the /scripts/postupcp script.

    Regards,
    Sarah
