I ran the database upgrade within cPanel from MySQL to Maria DB 10 and it upgrade thru mysql version to 5.6 Ok, but keeps failing on Maria DB with following error. How do you fix this?

    Code:
    Downloading Packages:
    Retrieving key from https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
The system failed to execute yum with the arguments “-y -c /var/tmp/5803.WHOSTMGR_BIN_WHOSTMGR_PL__.XNK9fe6gfLd5Sfpj.tmp -x MariaDB-compat install MariaDB-server MariaDB-client MariaDB-devel MariaDB-shared MariaDB-common” because of an error: The “/usr/bin/yum” command (process 7630) reported the “EPERM” (1) error when it ended. : warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: Header V4 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 1bb943db: NOKEY

GPG key retrieval failed: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host"

Does anyone even know what "“EPERM” (1) error when it ended. : warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: Header V4 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 1bb943db: NOKEY" means?

    Hello :)

Is your server running behind a proxy or is special routing configured? If not, feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome.

    Thank you.

I assume the error message is caused by not being able conntect to https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB 166.78.144.191 Can you confirm?

I have been sent this by a infrastructure Server Engineer, I cannot see how I can use cPanel to use the –nogpgcheck, Any suggestions please.

    Dear William,

It appears to be yum can’t retrieve the GPG key but it might be able to retrieve the package without any issues, if you upgrading using yum please try with option nogpgcheck,

EX : yum install applicationname –nogpgcheck

However if above doesn’t work you can always install using RPMS

    Index of /pub/dbms/mariadb/mariadb-5.5.42/yum/centos6-amd64/rpms

Download all above packages with wget and execute following command

    rpm -ivh MariaDB-*

To update, the issue appears to be isolated to the servers inability to connect to yum.mariadb.org. The user was advised to address the connection issue, or to provide the contents of their /etc/yum.conf file for further inspection.

    Thank you.
