    Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade python to 2.4.3. I'd like to install it as /usr/bin/python2.4 so that 2.2.3 can still run correctly.

So does anyone have any tips or ideas to do this correctly?

    Thanks!

The default source install on Linux goes to /usr/local/lib/"python version". If you want a different path then you will need to give ./configure a prefix switch. http://www.eyesopen.com/docs/html/pyprog/node274.html

Installed the 2.4.3 version several days ago in order to use denyhosts (using the default directory install) and it installed without any problem.
