i have a server for about 3 years and its running REDHAT Enterprise 4 i686 standard 32 bit.

i want to get a new cpanel server and migrate the old customers from this server to the new one.

question is will all their old applications work if i get Red Hat Enterprise Linux - 5 (64 bit) operating system on the new server?

    thanks very much

You may need to run an older php , mysql, and apache depending on how the sites are coded. You can downgrade php and apache via easyapache.

The 64bit part should be fine, do you run any applications (like processes that have a running process) those are the only thing that may be an issue but even then it is usually fine.

Thank you for the response, now I can go ahead and order the new server with the new operating system I chose.

    Have a nice day.
