in cpanel security advisor i have this notification : "KernelCare provides an easy and effortless way to ensure that your operating system uses the most up-to-date kernel without the need to reboot your server. Upgrade to KernelCare."

Can I update this without fear of breakdowns ?
    this update is necessary?

That's not an update mesage, it's a suggestion. You don't need to install it if you don't want to.

It's not free, but is indeed worth the investment.

It is a marketing message disguised a security notice.

How many days/weeks after kernel availability does it take KernelCare to make patch available?

    Hello @PbG,

It's generally within a few days. You can see a list of KernelCare patched kernels with their release dates at:

    KernelCare Directory

You can review the CentOS 7 kernel release dates for comparison:

    Index of /centos/7/updates/x86_64/Packages

    Thank you.
