    Hi,

We upgraded to the latest WHM (cPanel) 2 days ago and ever since are email has quit working! We are not getting any errors when we send them or receive them... we are just not getting any and they are not getting to where we send them.

We sent in a support tickect with ev1servers (whom we have the server with)... but they have not been able to fix it yet.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Doug

send a mail and at the same time check type the following at shell as root:

    tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog.

paste what is seen over there.

I appreciate your help! Finally I got ev1severs to get off their behinds and work on the problem and it seems to be fixed. We are getting emails coming in from the last 3 days... so it looks like we did not lose anything either :)

    Thanks again...

    Doug

Sadly, we struggled throughout Friday with this issue after the Cpanel upgrade.
We had installed mailscanner prior to its inclusion with Cpanel so we never used the Cpanel module. However, this latest upgrade broke Mailscanner. Uninstalling mailscanner fixed our email problem then we had to run exim -qff repeatedly for 24 hours to get the bottlenecked email to dump into appropriate boxes. Dang spammers!

 < - wearing shades to cover up the bags under eyes after the long sleepless ordeal

Anyhow, if you have Mailscanner installed you will have to uninstall it to get your email to work again. Not the end of the world. Most people who are clients these days use virus controls anyhow on their pcs. Oh well.

No, you do not have to uninstall MailScanner at all. If you'd done a search on the forums you'd have found this was all resolved some time ago and explained in detail in numerous threads. There are three solutions:

    1. Simply add the following line in the first textbox of the Exim Configuration Editor (cPanel know full well about this one with MailScanner):

    split_spool_directory = yes

    or

    2. Upgrade your MailScanner installation using my distribution if your install is from there or the old layer1 install

    or

    3. If you installed the rpm version of MailScanner you need to make only 2 simple changes to MailScanner.conf covered ion several posts on these forums.

This thread appears to be the only thread with Unrouteable address directly related to this latest "stable" build. Can you provide more information regarding 2 and 3?
