    Folks,

I inherited a centos 5.0 cPanel machine, and am looking to update the OS to 5.2. Are there any cPanel specific issues? Its a pretty vanilla setup - WHM is current and /srcipts/upcp works fine, except for some yum issues with lvm2 dependencies (the main reason I'm thinking about an OS update). The machine is pretty well loaded with existing customers.

    Dedicated server, nothing virtual involved
    No Xorg/X11 - strictly a console machine

    # uname -a
    Linux xxx.xxxx.xxx 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP Thu Mar 15 19:46:53 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    # rpm -q centos-release
    centos-release-5-0.0.el5.centos.2

    Thanks for your time

    tim

We upgraded many servers from centos 4.x to 5.x with very little down time. There will be no issues if you plan ahead and choose an appropriate time for the upgrade. In your case, it is an easy upgrade.
