Upgrading CentOS from 6.1 to 7

Has anyone, or is it possible, to ugprade CentOS from version 6.1 to 6.5, then upgraded CentOS 6.5 to CentOS 7.5 in place without doing a full system reinstall?

Apparently I was wrong. Seems I have version 6.10. I assumed 6.10 was 6.1, but it's not?

So, can 6.10 be upgraded in place to the latest 7.x final release?

Sorry, but you can't upgrade from 6.x to 7.x. You need to either reinstall or migrate to a new server.

I didn't think you could either, but I was reading an article that said it's a new feature. Something that wasn't able to be done in previous versions can now be done.

Was just wanting to know if anyone has successfully done it with WHM/cPanel installed on the system already.

I wouldn't trust this. Any reference they have to official documentation is gone. Like:

The dependencies you'd need would also cause this to fail I believe - the comments in that article also allude to the same

Thanks for the insight. Guess I'll have to go another route to upgrade to CentOs 7.x.
