I currently have CCS plug-in and the push notifications plug-in active and I want to upgrade to the new AlmaLinux from CentOS on one of my servers.

The security advisor and upgrade script tell me the following Error:
  • You have the cPanel Calendar Server installed. Upgrades with this server in place are not supported. Removal of this server can lead to data loss.
Obviously we have have customers using this service and according to both the upgrade script and CCS docs, if I disable CCS it will delete ALL user data with no option to save it, export it, or import it. How are we supposed to upgrade if it can’t be migrated without losing all of the data??? Some customers have 3+ years of calendar storage we don’t want to risk losing.

What do we do? What have others done.

Hey there! cPanel plans to remove CCS and replace it with a better tool. I don't have any exact dates, but the email team has told me "mid year" for that release, so if you are relying on that tool it might be best to wait to perform that OS upgrade.
