Upgrading Mailman

I am fairly new to Cpanel and WHM.

Can I manually upgrade Mailman from the source as root? I mean, is it safe and will it keep working with cpanel?

Is there a way to automatically upgrade it through WHM?

No.
Maiman is patched by Cpanel, and the original source does not get along with Cpanel.
I tried several times to upgrade it to 2.1.2 without sucess.
I did some patch to the source but still no luck.

Better to wait for Cpanel bundling new Mailman, I guess.

But it would be so nice to have the new mailman....I have so many customers who want the multi-lingual capabilities...
