Uploading File Troubles

I'm feeling very green and dumb. I can't even get one single file to upload to my public_html directory. I've tried it via Web Acces and I've tried it via File Manager (which tells me it has successfully uploaded but doesn't appear - I read in the cPanel documentation to try ticking the overwrite option, still no joy). It just isn't working. Am I missing some really obvious bit?

You really need to be asking your host this question so they can take a look for you. Short of that are you sure your browser has not cached the page somehow? Could be a browser issue.

Ahhh, you've given me confidence that it isn't me being dumb and with this new found confidence I tried using FTP and it worked! Thanks.
