    Hi there,

I'm brand new to the whole website design and upload process and have been teaching myself everything along the way. But I have ran across a problem I can't seem to figure out.
When i upload files using cuteFTP they upload in the publichtml folder and then if i go to my domain on the internet it still shows Index/ and continues listing all files i've uploaded.

Is this problem in the html coding or uploading procedure or something else entirely?

    Im really stuck.
Thanks in advance for any opinions or help.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Your directory may need a page the server knows to open when you visit yourdomain.com. (I'm just guessing this is the problem) you'll need to add either an index.php or an index.html.

To test, open notepad (assuming you're on windows) and save that file as index.html and upload to the public_html/ directory. Try yourdomain.com once again.

Your host should be able to assist with this sort of thing I would think. ;)

    HTH!
