cPanel novice here. As far as I can tell, cPanel allows uploading of files, but not folders. Of course, one can create a folder in cPanel and upload files into it, but it would be convenient to be able to just upload folders in their entirety. Clearly, an FTP program would do that job. But am I missing something about cPanel?

Yes, that's correct. Can do that, but it's a bit kludgy. Not completely obvious, but in the File Manager, "Extract" means decompress. I guess the outward pointing arrows are supposed to suggest that.

Most FTP utilities can upload folders. Why can't cPanel?

Hello! Currently, cPanel's File Manager does not support the upload of directories, but as @Babene7 suggested, you can compress the directory first and then upload it through the File Manager.

If you are needing to upload multiple directories quickly, I would recommend connecting to the server with an FTP client as it would likely be easier and faster than using File Manager.
