I am brand new to CPanel, but successfully uploaded my home page without trouble.
When I came to upload a changed version, the upload registers as successful (including having replaced the page), but the old page is still there. File manager does not list the old page so cannot delete it.

    Any ideas gratefully received.

Are you sure you're replacing that file in public_html ? If you replace a file, there would be no way for a web server to serve the old version of the file. However, perhaps your web browser cached the old version of the file. Be sure to clear your browser's cache to ensure you are getting the most recent version of the file being served by the server if you aren't seeing the changes.

this is a problem we see in hosting all the time. customer either puts new pages in wrong directory or updates the wrong index file. if there is index.html, it over rides index.htm and so on. check for multiple index files and delete the ones your don't want. also call them directly for review http://domain.com/index.html http://domain.com/index.htm for example
