I'm not an expert but definitely a power user of WHM/cPanel. (And my first time posting - hopefully in the right place since this seems to have something to do with security.)
Running a few WHM VPSs and I began noticing one of them had its disk usage creeping up for no apparent reason. Users did not have significant increased usage, no bloated error logs, etc. Then I received a few critical disk warnings and realized I needed to track this down.
It appears to be usr/tmp.secure.cpback/tmp - it's currently 12.67GB of a 40GB server. Other tmp directories are large but not alarming.
Searching cPanel forums for "tmp.secure.cpback" revealed nothing (literally NO results) and Google searches returned nothing relevant.
What is usr/tmp.secure.cpback/tmp? Is it safe to delete files inside this directory? How is it managed so that it's size does not get out of control again?
