    Does cpanel/whm allow me to control which accounts can access urchin and which ones does?

    I only want to use urchin accounts for high paying customers, is this possible?

    currently this is not possible.

    And if you are running anything ABOVE urchin 5.1 - it won't work at all. :(

    5.1 does work quite nicely however

    I am using urchin 5.6 on all my servers and it is working great.

    I just wish cpanel would add a function so that we can select which account we want to give urchin. This would be great.

    I have been looking for someone running 5.6

    Mooney,

    Riddle-me-this...

    did you have any bumps installing?

    I am running Linux RHE 3 , CPanel, and just installed Urchin 5.6 (RHE 3 release) on my box.

    Having trouble with the file "urchin.cgi" downloading when I click the "urchin stats" button in cpanel's stats area.

    Any clues?

    Thanks sir.
    Lizard

    Hi Lizard,

    I don't have a server with RHE but have a server with Fedora and Urchin 5.6 installed. It seems that the urchin.cgi file might not have the right permission. Try to run /scripts/runlogsnow. Then check that the profiles have been setup in the /home/username/tmp/urchin. See if the bin directory has a link to urchin.cgi and in the data directory the files have been generated.

    If you still have problems let me know.

    Tried your suggestions

    Thanks mooney for the help.

    I tried and checked what you suggested and found it all to be true. I ran the command and got:

    Code:
    [/]# /scripts/runstatsonce
    This script requires cPanel 6.4.2 Build 11+
    ==> Loading Config (cpanellogd) .... Done
    Urchin webserver is not running
    Urchin scheduler is not running
    1
    ==> cpaneld(logger) 8.0 Starting (1 processor system).....
    ==> Shared RRDTOOL support enabled
    ==> Ignoring lastrun files and running all stats now
    ==> cpanellogd will exit after stats have run
    [/]# /scripts/runlogsnow
    Resetting Logs for accounts...Done
    Resetting Logs for accounts...Done
    Resetting Logs for accounts...Done

    ==> Loading Config (cpanellogd) .... Done
    Urchin webserver is not running
    Urchin scheduler is not running
    1
    ==> cpaneld(logger) 8.0 Starting (1 processor system).....
    ==> Shared RRDTOOL support enabled
    [/]# ./usr/local/urchin/bin/urchinctl start
    Urchin webserver started on port 9999
    Urchin scheduler started
    [/]#
    Also, I have posted a detail of other attempts to fix this at:

    http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthr...rpage=25&highlight=cpanel urchin&pagenumber=4

    One other thing I should ask. is about the permissions of folders and files. here is what I have, is it right?:
    Code:
    [/home/account/tmp/urchin]# ls -fla /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/
    ...
    drwxr-xr-x    3 root     root         4096 May  9 15:43 stats/
    ...

    [/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/stats]# ls -fla urchin.cgi
    -rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root           48 Jan 31 18:55 urchin.cgi*

    [/home/account/tmp/urchin]# ls -fla
    drwx------    2 account account     4096 May  9 13:26 bin/

    [/home/account/tmp/urchin/bin]# ls -fla /usr/local/urchin/bin/urchin.cgi
    -rwxr-xr-x    1 nobody   nobody    1662356 May  6 10:08 /usr/local/urchin/bin/urchin.cgi*

    All this and I still get the download of "urchin.cgi"

    Thanks again for any help.

    I'm having a similar problem. When I try to access Urchin i'm getting a blank page with no data. It doesn't appear that urchin is compiling any new data for any of the domains. The last data files in reports show February of this year. I'm on RHEL3 with Urchin 5600r2. Any idea whats wrong?
