    Apache suddenly went down

    root@server [~]# apachectl configtest
    -bash: apachectl: command not found

    root@server [~]# /usr/sbin/httpd configtest
    Syntax OK

    httpd start
/usr/sbin/httpd start: httpd could not be started

httpd has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

    Logs show no errors

    Please help

    Go on, have a guess
If /etc/init.d/httpd startssl fails to start httpd, then ther really must be errors in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log, if not then it's having problems writing to disk or you've seriously screwed up httpd.conf or the apache build.

Ended up being the eaccelerator portion in php.ini that caused it. I corrected that area and its working.

    Thank you
