Apache keeps an error log that should provide more information about why it won't start. The 127.0.0.1 shouldn't prevent it from starting, although things might not work properly.

Try running "/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest" from the command line, that will help pinpoint configuration issues.

What is line 184 in your config file? If possible, post several lines above and below for context.

Will Apache start if you comment out line 184? Again, you may need to comment out a whole section or provide different configuration information instead of just commenting it out or removing it.

A core dump might indicate more than a problem with your Apache configuration, if sounds as if Apache or one of its modules is corrupted or has other problems.

Can you recompile Apache or reinstall the Apache package?

Check for the space in the server. Usually this is because there is a core dump file at the apache folder. do an rm -rf core.* Also you can check if the log files have exceeded the space limitations.

    Best of luck :)
