Trying to login to customer's FTP, they dont' remember password ( but it's saved in the HTML program) and I lost it. I thought my root password would always work, but apparently that's only for the CPANEL and not for FTP.

Any way to recover this?? Or any way to make root ALSO work??

Really urgent, need to modify this ASAP without changing their password if possible.

in WHM go to modify passwords and make a new pass for them. that will fix the problem if it doesn't go down to the cpanel4 box in whm and sync ftp passes. Hope that helps.

Why would you want to FTP to the client if you've got SSH root access to the server?

To simply answer the question, unless it was written down, it's encrypted and unrecoverable. Save yourself some time and change the password for the account and then change it in the html program.
